PMIS Reports Zero Trailing
Removes insignificant fractional zeros from backend float and monetary fields and QWeb float and monetary output. Stored values are unchanged.
Features
Wraps the backend web client's registered float and monetary formatters.
Extends the QWeb ir.qweb.field.float and ir.qweb.field.monetary converters, including reports and website output that uses those converters.
Preserves integer zeros: 120.00 becomes 120 and 120.50 becomes 120.5 when the decimal separator is a dot.
Configuration
The module depends on base, web, and web_editor. There is no setting to enable or disable trimming for an individual field.
Usage
Install the module and reload the backend client to load its formatter assets.
View a float or monetary field, or render QWeb output using those converters. Insignificant fractional zeros are removed after rounding and formatting.
Known Limitations
Integer, percentage, time, custom widgets, and manually formatted report text are not covered by these overrides. The JavaScript patch is loaded only in web.assets_backend.
Browser trimming reads the nested l10n, localization, or localisation decimal-point option and otherwise assumes a dot. It does not read Odoo's top-level decimalPoint option or default language separator. Comma-decimal output may retain zeros or be trimmed incorrectly when dots are grouping separators. QWeb converters use the active language's decimal separator.
Trimming removes fractional padding even when a minimum display precision was requested. Monetary QWeb output still rounds using the display currency.
