Host integration helpers

scripts/integration/ contains host-facing helpers that install or expose PMIVerse commands and validate host-facing policy or layout contracts. These helpers are distinct from root tools/, which contains the Python compatibility bridge.

Commands

  • install_cli_shortcuts.sh installs the restore-db symlink plus Bash completion for all runnable scripts/ commands in user or system shells. Its --system mode requires administrative approval.
  • pmiverse_policy_check.py reserves the host policy/layout checker command name. Its --help explains that no checks are implemented; normal invocation reports that limitation and exits with status 1. It is not validation evidence.

Test runner and scaffold commands live under scripts/test/. Reusable testing assets live under testkit/, and _pmiconfig's own tests live under tests/.

Read the command-specific pages under docs/scripts/ before use. Do not exercise installation behavior against a real host merely to validate this source layout.
