PMIS Stock Accounting

Stable License: LGPL-3 PMISuite/stock-accounting Version: 18.0

Extends stock valuation reporting and provides accounting diagnostics and correction tools for dropshipping, purchase price differences, and automated valuation entries. Some actions post or cancel journal entries and change valuation data; they are not reporting-only tools.

Configuration and access

Dependencies are pmis_account_dates, stock_account, purchase_stock, purchase_open_qty, sale_stock, pmis_stock_move_fiscal_month, and pmis_stock_reconcile. The manifest excludes purchase_stock_picking_return_invoicing.

Configure product valuation, stock accounts, journals, and fiscal periods. Dropship accounting and correction paths depend on Anglo-Saxon configuration and the relevant product accounts.

Accounting users have model access to the valuation reversal/cancellation, price-difference, and dropship audit wizards. The dropship reconciliation wizard requires the Stock Reconcile group. Normal record, company, and posting permissions still apply.

The supplied reversal, cancellation, price-difference, and dropship interim reconciliation actions additionally require Settings administrator access (base.group_system). Wizard model access alone does not grant their UI entry points. The valuation-layer reversal button is shown to Accounting Managers, but its action still carries that administrator restriction.

Under Accounting > Audit, administrators can open Dropship Interim Reconciliation, Cancel Automated Valuation, Price Difference (Zero-Qty), Price Difference (Dropship), and Price Difference (Incident). Review the operational safeguards below before using them.

Reporting and traceability

  • Stock moves expose fiscal movement classifications and enriched display names.

  • Valuation layers expose fiscal periods/dates and links to stock, partners, pickings, and accounting records.

  • Journal items identify originating stock moves and dropship supplier, customer, role, return status, and iteration.

  • Product variants expose an alternate display name.

  • Inventory at Fiscal Date, when opened from valuation layers, filters layers by fiscal date and storable products. It is not a reconstruction of warehouse quants at that date.

  • Correction entries and original records can be reviewed through correction indicators and linked-source fields. Rebuilding indicators can link older entries by their recognized reference prefixes.

Dropship workflows

For eligible dropship stock valuation, the addon prepares bridge accounting entries with supplier/customer attribution. Posting eligible customer invoices and refunds also attempts stock-output/interim reconciliation after the standard posting flow, unless reversal or skip context disables it.

Use Dropship Accounting Audit to inspect roles and iterations. Use Dropship Output Interim Reconciliation to select company, invoice/fiscal date ranges, invoice, or product and inspect candidate lines.

Start with Dry Run and preview actions. Execution reconciles eligible groups; enabling Reclass Dropship COGS can also post correction entries. Existing correction references and correction scope are used to avoid reprocessing those entries.

Automated valuation corrections

Reversal

The reversal wizard accepts layers classified as Automated Journal Entry in the selected company, with a linked journal entry. Normal reversal requires all valuation layers attached to each selected entry.

Execution creates negative valuation layers and posts reversal journal entries. Choose today's date, the original move date, or an explicit date. The separate partner-update mode adjusts partner information on existing reversals rather than creating new reversal entries. Review previous reversals before repeating normal execution; it is not a general idempotent retry operation.

Cancellation

Cancellation is restricted to value-only automated layers without a stock move, quantity, or remaining quantity and with linked accounting entries. It defaults to Dry Run.

Actual execution marks and cancels eligible linked journal entries and zeros the selected layers' quantity, value, unit cost, and remaining balances. Unlike reversal, this mutates the selected valuation records. It is not a replacement for returning physical stock.

Purchase price differences

The correction wizard filters vendor bills by company, invoice/fiscal dates, vendor, and product. It compares expected and actual price-difference balances, offers previews and dry runs, and creates separate balanced correction entries without rewriting original bill lines.

The zero-quantity and dropship variants use different candidate policies. An optional fully-issued-quantity restriction skips products with remaining valuation quantities. Existing correction references/scope are excluded.

An incident-specific wizard remains implemented: it selects suspicious lines created by the system user within its fixed December 31, 2025 time window. That filter is not a general date-range repair mechanism.

Operational safeguards

Review source moves, periods, accounts, company, and candidate journal items before execution. Posting locks and accounting permissions can prevent a correction. Previewing a candidate is not approval to post it.

These tools address the implemented accounting cases, not every possible valuation discrepancy. Physical stock returns, invoice reversals, and normal landed-cost workflows remain separate operations.
