PMIS Equipment Management
Adds an equipment register to OCA Helpdesk Management. Equipment can be linked to helpdesk tickets, allowing support teams to record and review the equipment involved in each request.
The module depends on helpdesk_mgmt, website_sale and product_brand. It does not create stock moves, product records, sales orders, or website product pages.

Configuration
No additional configuration is required after installation. The module adds the following entries under Helpdesk > Configuration:
Equipment Categories for a hierarchical category tree.
Equipment Models for model name, manufacturer, production year, optional website product category, and description.
Equipment for the individual equipment register.
Create product brands through the Product Brands configuration provided by product_brand when manufacturers need to be recorded. A brand shows a smart button for its related equipment models.
Access follows the Helpdesk roles supplied by helpdesk_mgmt:
Helpdesk Users can read and edit equipment and models, but cannot create or delete them; they can fully manage equipment categories.
Helpdesk Managers can create, edit, and delete equipment, models, and categories.
Equipment media is readable to all users. Website Designers and Sales Managers can create, edit, and delete media records.
Usage
Create any required equipment categories. Categories can have a parent and cannot be made recursive.
Create equipment models and optionally assign a manufacturer and website product category. The model form provides a smart button to open equipment using that model.
Create an equipment record. Its name, owner, and company are required. Optionally record its model, purchase year, categories, assigned user, maintainer, location, description, and archive status.
Add image media to an equipment record when needed. A media entry requires a name and image. Image records are deleted with their equipment. Video media has the limitation described below.
Select the equipment on a helpdesk ticket. The ticket then displays the equipment's owner. From an equipment record, the Tickets smart button opens only its linked tickets and prefills new tickets with that equipment, its assigned user, and its maintainer as contact.
Equipment lists and kanban views can be searched by name, assigned user, and model, and grouped by assigned user, owner, model, or manufacturer. Equipment and models can be archived without deletion. Equipment stores a company and includes chatter and activities.
Functional scope
The register stores service context only. Linking equipment to a ticket does not change the ticket workflow, enforce an equipment selection, assign a ticket team, or update stock, accounting, products, sales, or website data. The manufacturer is inherited from the selected equipment model; changing the equipment's manufacturer therefore requires changing its model.
Known limitations
The equipment model defines a serial-number field, but the supplied equipment forms and lists do not expose it.
Equipment has a company field, but this addon supplies no company record rules for its equipment, models, categories, or images. That field alone does not isolate records between companies. Equipment and model smart-button counts use elevated access and can include records the user cannot open.
Media defines a video URL and an embed-code helper, but the embed-code field is not connected to that helper as a computed field. A URL with no embed code raises a validation error; entering a URL alone does not automatically create a playable preview.
